Commissions

I get requests for commission work on a regular basis, so I thought it might refine the process to offer a few “standardized” formats for commissions.  So here’s what I have to offer:

7 X 7 Commissions:

- These commissions will be drawn on 7″ x 7″ bristol board with archival inks and colored with Prismacolor markers for a cost of $25 (price includes shipping in the United States – add $5 for international shipping).
- The commission can be of a single character with a background. Maybe you want a drawing of your favorite Max vs. Max or You’ll Have That character. Maybe you’d like me to draw your favorite character from a comic, cartoon, or movie. Or, maybe you’d like me to draw a portrait of you or a loved one! Doesn’t matter! All I ask is that you keep it clean (I will be the final judge on what is “clean” and what is “not clean”).
- To place an order just send an email to wes@maxvsmax.com with “7 x 7 Commission” as the subject. Make sure to tell me exactly what you’d like me to draw, and please provide reference photos if you want me to draw a portrait.

9 X 12 Commissions:

- These commissions will be drawn on 9″ x 12″ bristol board with archival inks and colored for a cost of $80 (price includes shipping in the United States – add $5 for international shipping).
- You can have your 9 X 12 commission colored one of two ways: digitally or with Prismacolor markers.
- If you choose to have your commission colored digitally you will receive the original black-and-white lineart along with a hi-res image file of the finished color piece.
- If you would like to have your commission colored digitally AND with Prismacolor markers there will be an additional fee of $20.
- The commission can contain multiple characters with a background. Maybe you want a drawing of your favorite Max vs. Max or You’ll Have That character(s). Maybe you’d like me to draw your favorite character(s) from a comic, cartoon, or movie. Or, maybe you’d like me to draw a portrait of you and your loved ones! Doesn’t matter! All I ask is that you keep it clean (I will be the final judge on what is “clean” and what is “not clean”).

Personalized Comic Strips:
* This is a GREAT way to capture those funny moments and favorite memories of your friends and family!*

- Personalized comic strips will be drawn on 5″ x 14″ bristol board with archival inks at a cost of $75. The strips can be colored with Prismacolor markers for an additional $25.
- Script-writing can be done by the customer or can be left up to me. If customer is writing the script, please keep the script to four panels AT MOST. If customer would rather I do the writing, please provide me with the scenario or gag-idea. I will write a script and submit it to the customer for approval. Comic will be drawn upon approval of the script.
- A strip does not have to be 4-panels. You can go as few as one panel if that’s what suits the scenario or gag.
- Ideal amount of “characters” is two per 4-panel strip. Three characters are possible, but four characters will be very cluttered. A good rule of thumb to keep in mind is that MORE characters work well in LESS panels.
- Please keep gag-ideas within the bounds of cleanliness and good taste (I will be the final judge on what is “clean” and “tasteful”).
- To order a personalized comic strip, simply send an email to wes@maxvsmax.com with “Personalized Comic Strip” as the subject. Please provide all information I need to prepare the comic (scripts, gag-ideas, etc.) as well as any reference photos of friends/family who will be characters in the strip.

Non-Standard Commissions:

- If you’d like to order something different than what is described above simply shoot me an email at wes@maxvsmax.com and let’s talk about it! I’m always up for a challenge! We’ll figure something out and discuss the pricing.
