I’m going to be honest, I felt a little insulted at Val’s thing on webcomics. Mostly because think she’s confusing “streamlining” (as webcomic networking and creation becomes easier and more prevalent) with “mainstreaming”.
If anything, now that the webcomic “peak” of visibility seems to have passed, there’s a boom of creativity and output of people doing all sorts of types of webcomics in a variety of styles. Just because there aren’t all of a sudden six million people doing PVP knockoffs and it’s in the news, doesn’t mean that webcomics are over or whatever.
